Starting a notebook
Why I'm adding a notes section to the site — and what I plan to write here.
I’ve wanted a place to write for a long time. Not a polished blog with a publishing schedule — just a notebook. Somewhere to put the things I’m learning, the decisions I’m wrestling with, and the occasional idea that feels worth keeping.
Why “notes” and not “blog”
“Blog” carries expectations: cadence, length, an audience. “Notes” is lighter. A note can be three sentences or three thousand words. It can be finished or it can trail off. That lower bar is the whole point — it makes writing something I’ll actually do.
What to expect
Mostly three themes:
- Building software — the craft, the tools, the trade-offs.
- Running a company — what it’s really like to found and grow one.
- Living between languages — Russia, Japan, and the space in between.
Every note here is written in English, Russian, and Japanese. If you’re reading in one language and a note hasn’t been translated yet, you’ll see it in whichever language is available — with a small note telling you so.
More soon.
